Safety & Trust
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Real connection starts with feeling safe. Here's what we do to help protect our community, and what you can do to look out for yourself while dating.
Our Commitment to Safety
We want every member of Scintiflama to feel safe using the Service and meeting new people. While no platform can guarantee safety, we're committed to building tools, guidelines, and support that help you make informed decisions and give you control over your experience.
Tips for Safe Dating
Whether it's your first match or your fiftieth, these habits can help keep you safe:
- Meet in public places, especially for the first few dates.
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back.
- Video chat before meeting in person to help confirm the person is who they say they are.
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, it's okay to end a conversation or a date early.
- Don't share financial information, passwords, or send money to someone you've met through the Service, no matter the reason they give.
Reporting and Blocking
If someone makes you uncomfortable or violates our Community Guidelines, you can report and block them directly from their profile or a conversation within the app. Blocking immediately prevents further contact, and reports are reviewed by our team.
Profile Verification
We're actively working on profile verification features to help reduce fake profiles and impersonation. In the meantime, use the safety tips above — like video chatting before meeting — to help confirm you're talking to a real, honest person.
Community Guidelines
We expect every member of our community to:
- Treat others with respect, both in conversation and in person
- Be honest in their profile, photos, and interactions
- Never harass, threaten, or pressure another user
- Never create fake profiles or misrepresent who they are
Violating these guidelines can result in warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the Service.
What We Do When You Report Someone
When you submit a report, our team reviews the details you provide, along with relevant account activity, to determine what action is appropriate. Depending on the severity, this can range from a warning to permanent account termination. We aim to keep the reporting process straightforward and to take reports seriously.
Emergency Resources
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right away. Scintiflama is not a substitute for emergency assistance and cannot respond in real time to safety emergencies.
